Webmaster Video Comments: Steven Kaufman and Greg Jarboe of SEO-PR talk about the ""How Much Search is Enough"" panel at SES San Jose 2008. Jarboe: Hi, this is Greg Jarboe. We're at Search Engine Strategies San Jose and Steven, your panel here was a little feisty. Kaufman: Yeah, well, when Kevin moderates, we always know we're going to have a good discussion. Jarboe: So, one of the interesting points that I think you made is that somehow or other the search engines aren't selling their brand capabilities, maybe, as well as they could have. Kaufman: Yeah, well they're very aggressive about the branding quality of search and they're all doing studies to prove that when you appear on the page, having your brand there is good for your brand and bad for your competitor's brand. As marketers, though, we can't guarantee those impressions are going to be there 'cause theyr'e still seilling us clicks. And we're priced on a price-per-click (PPC) basis, and by rewarding good ads out of getting clicked, it's difficult for us toget brand exposure. It's difficult for us to buy impressions because they won't sell us impressions. No Comment
